Black Lives Matter
Today, we're taking time on the pod to talk about ways we can be actively anti-racist, and connecting you with resources to fight against police brutality. So we're starting this week's episode with a conversation about police brutality, the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Tony McDade, the protests, and what we can all do about the injustices right now. We still want to provide some levity, some cathartic laughter, so we get into some silly animal news and our chasers as well (which we recorded last week, just for full transparency). We'll be back with a full episode next week. We love you all so much, thank you for listening! Here are some resources:Black Lives Matter Resources: https://blacklivesmatters.carrd.coNational Resource Link (includes many places to donate): https://docs.google.com/document/d/1CjZMORRVuv-I-qo4B0YfmOTqIOa3GUS207t5iuLZmyA/edit?usp=sharingJustice for Breonna Taylor gofundme: https://www.gofundme.com/f/9v4q2-justice-for-breonna-taylorCommunities United for Police Reform / Safer NY Act: https://www.changethenypd.org/safer-nyNY Assembly Member Search: https://nyassembly.gov/mem/search/Books to educate ourselves: https://bookshop.org/lists/anti-racismList of black owned bookstores: https://aalbc.com/bookstores/list.phpSpecific books that Matt and Bari are reading this summer: Me and White Supremacy: Combat Racism, Change the World, and Become a Good Ancestor, by Layla F.
